CareerEdge is moving economic development forward in the Manatee-Sarasota region by working with a variety of organizations and individuals to provide local enterprises the skilled labor pool they need to prosper. We also provide local workers an opportunity to earn family-sustaining wages through advanced training and development via our partners. Our unique, multilevel approach results in a workforce system that offers greater resources, improves over time though application of best practices and adapts to changing needs.
CareerEdge Funders is Currently Receiving Proposals in the Manufacturing and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics Sectors.
CareerEdge is requesting proposals from Manufacturing and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics employers located in Manatee, Sarasota, Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties who can make a compelling case that the CareerEdge Employer Partnership Model can help them accelerate promotions for incumbent workers, while speeding job creation and improving the company’s bottom-line.
CareerEdge is interested in funding training programs that accomplish two things: #1 help workers advance up the career ladder, earning promotions, pay raises and credentials that permanently improve their lifetime earning power, and #2 help employers accelerate revenue and job growth.
Here’s how to apply:
- Contact Lauren Meyer at 941-328-6984 or LMeyer@uwsuncoast.org to have an Employer Profile created so you can log into the Apricot application system.
- Once you receive an email from Apricot with your credentials, go to https://ctk.apricot.info/auth and log in to complete the RFP process.
- Once logged in, click on “Application Overview” under GRANTS on the left side of the screen.
- At the bottom of the page there will be an area labeled “Employer RFP”. Click on Open – Click Here to Apply and complete your employer profile along with a summary of your proposed training program. When finished, click “Save Report” at top right of the page.
- Chose the option to “View Folder” and you will be provided with additional forms which need to be completed.
- Once all sections are filled out, click the “Submit Application” button and CareerEdge will be notified that you have completed the process.

State College of Florida
Established in 1957, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is the region’s first and largest public college, serving 27,000 college credit students annually at campuses in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Venice, and via online classes. Another 14,000 participants annually attend professional development and personal enrichment classes. The College has graduated 44,000 students since 1959. SCF is a dynamic College dedicated to meeting the educational and workforce training needs of citizens and businesses in the region. Suncoast Technical College
The Suncoast Technical College provides quality technical education to meet workforce development and community needs. University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee
The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM), also known as USF Sarasota-Manatee, is a separately accredited, four-year institution in the University of South Florida System, which comprises USF Tampa and USF St. Petersburg (USFSP). Located at 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida, USA, USFSM is situated a half-mile north of University Parkway in Manatee County. Just steps from beautiful Sarasota Bay, USFSM’s scenic campus is near the historic Crosley Mansion, the Ringling and the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).
