Kathryn Whalen has joined CareerEdge Funders Collaborative at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce as their Workforce Program Coordinator. Kathryn has a BA degree from The University of Central Florida in Hospitality Management and Communications and started her career at the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce, just outside of Orlando, as a Development & Special Events Manager. Since then, Kathryn has gained vast experience in working with nonprofits throughout her career in many different capacities, including The American Cancer Society and American Red Cross where she lent her talents to development, major gifts and corporate partnerships. For the past ten years she has been working in the private sector, as the Director of Operations for a locally family-owned and operated home inspection company, Second Opinion Home Inspection, LLC. Kathryn is thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and be of service to their premier workforce initiative, CareerEdge.

Kathryn is from the Suncoast and enjoys traveling, boating and is an avid Tampa Bay Bucs, Rays and Lightening Fan! She lives in Lakewood Ranch with her husband and three children.
