Without the support of its Funders, CareerEdge’s work would not be possible in our community. The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Foundation is the fiscal agent for CareerEdge.
CareerEdge is proud to list its funder partnerships with the following organizations, who have donated over $12.2 million to the Sarasota/Manatee region:
Public Funders
One of the most dynamic features of the CareerEdge initiative is its designation as one of only 30 collaboratives across America that is funded by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, a partnership unprecedented in scope. Nearly 800 co-investing in communities are leveraging $384 million in local communities to help overhaul local and regional workforce systems. The National Fund was created to meet the needs of a rapidly changing economy. Where traditionally jobs are disappearing, knowledge-based jobs are taking their place, and nearly 80 million Americans lack the skills needed to secure their place in the new economic reality.
CareerEdge was the first organization in the Southeastern United States to be designated as an investment site of the National Fund, which gives CareerEdge the unique potential to move our region into the new economic reality. Most recently, after only three years, CareerEdge was awarded the National Fund’s “Exemplary Collaborative” Award, having far surpassed the goals set for it by the Fund, in some cases by over 200%.
Our founding funders: Bank of America, Bradenton Downtown Development Authority and Bradenton 14th Street CRA, Central Community Redevelopment Agency, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, National Fund for Workforce Solutions
