CareerEdge Graduates 20 Certified Nursing Assistants

CareerEdge Funders Collaborative and United Way Suncoast introduced 20 new Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to the healthcare community. On Friday, May 12th, 9 CNAs graduated from the United Way Suncoast Sulphur Springs Resource Center. On Monday, May 15th, 11 CNAs graduated from the Booker Middle School Resource Center. The 7 week program culminated in a graduation ceremony and job fair for both cohort locations. All students will now need to pass their state CNA exam to become licensed nursing assistants. The Manufacturing Industry Grows in the Sarasota-Manatee Region

CareerEdge has partnered with many local manufacturing employers to help connect and train talent and to close skills gaps. The industry has seen much improvement from these efforts and is still continuing to grow in our region. At the end of 2017, manufacturers employed over 17,000 employees locally, a 3% increase from 2016, with an average annual wage of $51,950 last year.
